Dr. Lillian Rizzo

Dr. Lillian Rizzo was born and raised on Long Island, NY. Lillian was a competitive gymnast and went to the University of New Mexico on a gymnastics scholarship, where she earned her B.S. in Biology.  

After graduation, Lillian returned to NY to work at Brookhaven National Laboratory as a biologist. While at Brookhaven, Lillian worked on DNA sequencing with the Human Genome Project. 

Realizing her true love was working with animals, Lillian applied to veterinary programs and was accepted to Cornell University. Lillian graduated from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000, completed her internship in Phoenix and was then accepted to a surgical residency program with Oklahoma State University. After successfully completing her surgical residency, Lillian moved back to Phoenix in 2004 to practice veterinary surgery. She gained her board certification from the American College of Veterinary Surgery in 2006. 

In 2014, Dr. Rizzo opened the Veterinary Surgery Center of Arizona (VSCA). This allowed her to provide quality veterinary surgery with individualized, logical and practical solutions for her patients. With VSCA now merging with PVREC she will continue to treat her patients and clients like family in a state of the art progressive facility and highly skilled support staff. 

When Lillian is not performing surgery, she can often be found with her husband on the sidelines of a soccer field watching her boys play.
